Gerstner Collector's Chest

I was recently asked by the owners of Gerstner, the premier maker of fine toolmakers' chests, to design a chest suitable for knife collectors. What you see here is the result, a compact, handsome chest of quarter-sawed oak, with three long drawers and six short drawers. All six of the short drawers and the top long drawer are 3/4 inch deep, the other two long drawers are 1 1/4 inch deep. Gerstner's reputation has been built on their machinists' chests. You would have a hard time finding a machine shop where at least the top machinist does not have a Gerstner Chest on his work bench. While these chests are built to hold the delicate measuring instruments of the toolmakers trade, they have always been used to hold tools for wood carvers, wood burners, leather carvers, model makers, draftsmen, fly tiers and the home tinker. They are extremely well suited for collections of pocket and hunting knives, pens, or watches, as well as many other items men collect. This "Collector's Chest" is a more manageable size for that small collection of knives or pens, or medals, etc. If you have a large collection, by all means buy one of the larger chests, or several of this one. If you are a new collector, or if you are very particular in your collecting and only have a small collection, this new chest is perfect. Measurement 20-1/2" W x 7 3/4" D x 9 1/4" H.
